Community Service

Purpose Statement - Through a person-centred approach, we empower our members to thrive and achieve

It is well known that people who feel safe, comfortable and a part of their community are happier and healthier. Created in 2011 in response to requests from people who used our other services, the Community Services is a 1:1 bespoke support service for people of all ages to empower them to access community activities, led entirely by the person and what they want or need.

People use our Community Services for all sorts of things, such as socialising with friends, daily living tasks such as shopping & managing finances as well as leisure activities like surfing, horse-riding and swimming. We also support people on work experience and volunteer placements.

People are matched with an enabler based on their requirements and we can work towards specific outcomes such as learning a new skill, getting confident on public transport or working towards health and wellbeing goals like losing weight or being more active.

The Community Services also offers a Short Breaks service, where we can support people to plan and go on short breaks away, such as city breaks, activity weekends or even attending specific events, such as a music festival.
